Walk for the climate - COP21

The last day of the COP21, 12th december  2015, a long walk with more than 15.000 people was organized between La Défense and l'Arc de Triomphe in Paris. People were there to express that a change of mentality and behavior is essential now, in order to not to exceed the increase of 1,5 degrees Celsius.

At the beginning of the walk, a minute of silence has been observed, and red tulips were laid in memory of the victims of climate change. Then the procession took the direction to the avenue de la Grande Armée, formed by indigenous people and communities most affected by climate change, followed by militants pulling-down long streamers.
Large silver cubes were launched into the air and carried by the crowd, representing the melting of the polar ice. The red banners, symbolizing the borderline to not cross for a liveable planet, wore a message to the leaders and members of the COP21 :  "We will not stop here. It's up to us to keep fossil fuels in the ground. »
